The NSTC Subcommittee on Biometrics (http://www.biometricscatalog.org/NST...ee/default.asp) has recently released two documents that may be of interest to you: a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and a Glossary, which were developed with the full understanding that national (INCITS/M1) and international (ISO/IEC JTC1 SC37) standards bodies are working to develop standard references. These documents should be in agreement with the standard references, but written for a non-technical audience.

The subcommittee developed these documents to further the understanding of a general audience and to serve as a reference tool for understanding future documents released by the US Government. Additional documents explaining certain items are nearly complete and will also be made available in the future. A public comment form for revision suggestions will also be made in the future; for now, you can use the “site suggestions” feature on the Biometrics Catalog (http://www.biometricscatalog.org).

The FAQ and Glossary document is currently available at http://www.biometricscatalog.org/Int...n/default.aspx and will be added to other federal biometric websites in the near future.
