An important part of the federal contracting process is the source selection review panel. Selecting the proper individuals to serve on these panels is critical to their success. In an effort to help agencies identify individuals to serve on these panels, members of the NSTC Subcommittee on Biometrics (http://www.biometricscatalog.org/NSTCSubcommittee) have developed a “biometrics solicitation reviewer” repository.
Members of the biometrics community that are potentially interested in serving on federal solicitation review panels are invited to enter their contact information and experiences in an online form (https://www.biometricscatalog.org/bsr/review.asp). Subcommittee members will be able to search this repository to find potential panel members.
A few key items to keep in mind:
• Federal agencies are not required to choose panel members from this repository, either in whole or in part. It is merely a tool to help find interested members of the biometrics community. Some individuals in the repository may be asked to participate in several solicitations; others may never be contacted.
• Individuals in the repository are not required to participate in a review panel if they are contacted at some point by a federal agency. Adding yourself to the repository merely states that you are potentially interested in serving. You may remove yourself from the repository at any time.
• Searching the repository is limited to members of the NSTC Subcommittee on Biometrics. Members are only able to search by experiences, not by names.
I respectfully ask members of the biometrics community to consider adding their contact and experience information into this repository.
